Scots tartan carpet manufacturer creates Trump tartan

A Scots tartan carpet designer has created a Trump tartan carpet and installed it in the Trump International Golf links in Aberdeenshire.

When considering

contract flooring in Liverpool offices and hotels, few businesses would consider commissioning their own personalised tartan, even if they have Scottish owners. Whilst Donald Trump is busy campaigning to become the next US president, his golf club at Balmedie Aberdeenshire, has installed a 200 square metre carpet in the clubhouse that features a specially designed Trump tartan pattern. Donald Trump is half Scottish; his mother comes from Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis.

John Mcllvogue, the managing director of the Glasgow based carpet manufacture Stevens & Graham said:

“We were involved in extensive discussions with the Trump teams to create a product which matches the quality of the course and the hotel.

“Mr Trump has said that, with the new course, the golf experience in Scotland has been elevated to new levels of excellence and the Trump tartan in the clubhouse provides the top quality finishing touch.”

The Trump tartan is green, teal and maroon and complements the luxury feel of the clubhouse.

The golf club also features a five star boutique hotel and luxury restaurant. It has been built on the dramatic Aberdeenshire coastline. Membership of the golf course costs £2,495 a year.

Donald Trump said:

“With the championship links and MacLeod House & Lodge boutique hotel fully established, the golf experience in Scotland has been elevated to new levels of excellence.”
