Las Vegas World Market features new flooring trends

The World Market runs from January 22nd to 26th 2017 and brings together some of the leading retailers and designers of home decor, furniture and gifts. This year’s show featured the latest trends in floor design.

Interior design colour trends are inspired by nature with green a particular favourite. The colour experts Pantone’s colour of the year is called Greenery.

There is also a move to more neutral colours such as whites, pale greys, and blush-pinks.

Hard floors tend to be preferred over carpets. Many choose hard floors because they are easier to keep clean.

Cork is predicted to be a large 2017 trend, because it adds warmth and sound damping to large open plan floors.

Terracotta is another floor coverings that is making a comeback. Innovative designs in concrete, limestone and marble provide an organic look to a floor.

When choosing new solid flooring in your Cheshire home you can be influenced by trends or follow the advice of interior designer Stephen Leon who says:

“Stay true to yourself, don’t obsess about what’s in vogue; and fill your home with only the things that really bring you pleasure and that you can enjoy for years to come, even if they are no longer “trending.”

Minimalism has been a trend over the past few years, but the World Market shows a move back to a more rustic feel, making interiors look more like country cottages with natural wood floors and other features.
