House built in 4 and a half days has engineered wood flooring

The Huf Haus is a German designed house system that can be erected in a few days, including the installation of solid wood flooring.

Brent and Rosemary Wilkinson ordered a Huf Haus for a plot of land they bought near Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire. Although the main house took only 4 and a half days to erect, they spent two months in preparation work, including removing 5,000 tonnes of chalk and earth. Concrete walls and foundations for the building were put into place and left for a month to dry.

The main house was transported on lorries in modules and many construction workers spent the 4 and a half days erecting the modules.

The house has many luxury amenities including a 39ft heated swimming pool in the basement. The ground floor has a kitchen with premium Bulthaup fittings and Gaggenau appliances. The dining room has a pitched roof, skylights and a covered outdoor terrace. Most rooms have sliding 7.6ft high double-glazed panels that let in plenty of natural light.

The Huf Haus is futuristic looking with a white framework and lots of windows and glass doors. Inside has a minimalist look with clean lines and lots of empty space. The floors, however, are more traditional and are made from engineered oak planks.

Engineered flooring is very versatile and it looks good in either a modern style house like the Huf Haus or a more traditional one. Choose Engineered flooring for your North Wales home if you want a durable, good looking and easy to maintain floor.
