Engineered hardwood flooring is top choice in America

The Home Innovation 2017 annual survey has found that hardwood flooring is the top choice in new home construction in the United States. Whilst carpeting is still popular in bedrooms, downstairs dining rooms and kitchens are using engineered hardwood flooring.

Hardwood flooring is now installed in 31% of new American homes. Whilst the use of solid wood flooring has increased, laminate flooring has shown no significant growth. Many laminates make an excellent job of imitating wood finishes, but American homeowners are prepared to pay a little extra for solid wood floors.

The Home Innovation survey found that luxury homeowners are increasingly using natural materials such as wood, tiles and stone. This trend is spreading to new home constructions with the use of wood floors. It is predicted that the use of stone and tile floor coverings will also be increasingly found in mid-priced homes.

Many homes built by British builders do not come with floor coverings. They often have concrete floors, with laminate or carpets available as extras. A new homeowner also has the option using a local flooring company to install the floor covering of their choice. Wood, laminate and tile floor coverings are popular in the UK.

If you have bought a new house in the Liverpool area, consider installing a solid wood floor before you move in. If you want to upgrade an older house, then solid wood flooring or parquet flooring in your Wirral room will add a luxury feel.
