Danish interior design trends on Pinterest

Pinterest users are known for their love of interior design ideas, and room designs influenced by Danish interiors are proving especially popular in 2020.

According to Lucy Searl of Realhomes.com:

“Danish interior design is sooo easy to live with, simple to copy and is totally affordable to mimic too.”

Danish interiors feature lots of wood, be it in the floors, furniture or surfaces. Scandinavian design may be streamlined and shiny, but has lots of character.

One look Searle admires is based on grey and yellow combinations. Dark grey furniture has contrasting yellow throws and cushions, while rugs feature grey and yellow patterns. The floor is a blonde wood that adds an airy and light feel to the room, and blonde wood is also stuck to the ceiling to enhance the Danish look. A feature wall continues the wood theme with lengths of pine glued to the wall.

Some popular Pinterest room designs mix French and Danish influences with grey-green colours, basketwork chairs and grey wood floors. This creates a classic look that should never go out of date.

There’s no need to be in a Scandinavian country to copy the Danish look. Wood furniture with light coloured wood flooring in Cheshire homes is a clean, light look that can be achieved at a reasonable cost.

There are many types of quality light or grey wood flooring available to add a Scandinavian flair to a room. If the room already has a solid wood floor, it is possible to stain it dark grey to add a Nordic feel.
