3D Floors create dramatic effects

New developments in 3D epoxy floor designs can add dramatic effects to any room.

3D epoxy floors work by creating optical illusions that make a floor look as though it exists in three dimensions. For example, beach scenes complete with sea and fish create realistic looking seascapes. Dolphins appear to leap out of the floor. Floors can appear to sink beneath your feet. Another illusion features swans appearing as though they are swimming on top of a lake.

The floor coverings are made using printed images scaled to fit the room dimensions. After the floor covering has been laid, a clear resin coat is added that looks like glass and this enhances the 3D effect.

One of the leading producers of these 3D floors is the Interiors Design Company based in Dubai, and it stated:

“Decorative flooring – it’s not just a picture, a large-scale art object, which fundamentally changes the idea of what might look like flooring. On the one hand – it’s surface, and the other – a whole image, with all shades and textures. Strong and durable coating on which man walks in the room can be a beautiful, creative and unique.”

It claims that the flooring is of high strength and is suitable for any room, residential or commercial. Some image and colour combinations can make small rooms look larger.

When installing new solid flooring in a Wirral home or workplace you may not want the vivid effect of 3D epoxy flooring, but you can add impact to any room with striking patterns and strong colours.
